Clark, a former DuQuoin I boy. is a ut.Uy making a living and seen t be having a fair degree of success.I Clark is now muring Southern Illinois, making all the principal ;show places, eating, and swallowing razor blades and washing them down vvi h ground glass as a chaser,i A stop i old thaf Clark was making a nearby town, and after his performance stepped in at a ‘ corner drug store to buy a coca cola. As he was drinking he overheard and became an interestedparticipant in a discussion of his seemingly impossible feat. The patrons of the drug store who had seen him perform and who did not recognize Clark in the store, were almost unanimous in their opinici that it was all a fake, when to their astonishmentthe uninvited stranger to the discussion began biting pieces out of the coca cola glass and devouring them with apparent relish. After he had eaten the glass he offered to pay for his drink and also for the glass. The frightened druggist declined to accept pay for either but did volunteer to callfan ambulance. But Clark thank-ed him and walked casually out1 while the customers sat still in bewildered astonishment. ‘The story is offered for what it * is worth as is his performance on : the stage. In the presence ol about a dozen spectators he actually chewed up and seemingly devour-jed a safety razor blade and then just to show that his appetite wasnot yet satisfied, he obtained a straight razor blade from Ward’s barber shop and at it also.Clark is billed to appear at the Fox-Globe Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, and then we shall se what we shall see or think we see. ’ !
