T. A. are planning a great celebration for the school.la the afternoon there will he a parade of children around the large birthday cake holding eighteen candles. Each child will make an offering in the birthday spirit of giving to go toward welfare work In the school. They will aleo view the program.In the evening a rather elaborate program has been planned, by 'the fifth 'grades under the direction of Miss Esther Parker and MUs Adele Hope. The program will ba divided Into three parts, one devoted to ,Raphael Semmes school, one to Abraham Lincoln and one to George Washington.The following Is a brief review of the program to he given.■ ■ Program:Amerfct, first and 'last signs**— Raphael Semmes P. After the program there, win he a very short business session for routine mattere and hills.Th* roll call will not h* called as at, th# last meeting. The secretary treasurer’s table will be placed in the corner and each member will he responsible for enrolling himself. Herring of Raphael Semmes Elementary and Pre-Vocation al school entertained the executive committee of the Parent-Teach-ers’ Association at a Iuneheon last Mondev noon in ths school parlors. Mrs. 8. M. Edgar, manager of the Raphael Semmes cafeteria, served the usual school plate lunch which has been featured at the school for some time at a special rate. The committee was very enthusiastic about ths type of lunch servedsand the amount of tha servings offered to the children for that, price. Plans wars mads for improving ths cafe*-teria service and Mre. lt;S. G. Gouhil’s name was placed In nomination for head of th# refreshment committee and mambers, of th* executive committee 'to take the place of Mbs. A. D. Parke who has left the school. Those present at the.luncheon were Mrs, J. W. Lauber, Jr., Mrs. J. L. Layman, Mrs. H. B. Dess, Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Coffin and Mr. B. R, Herring.
