Congregation fellowship Valentine luncheonHearts and flower* decorated thetables for the 12:30 p.m. Valentine luncheon served by Circle Four of theUnited Church of Christ Women’s Fellowship for the February meeting. Marietta Berkhimer gave the table grace using a prayer written by Laura Schellenberger.Paula Arends, president of the fellowship conducted the business meeting, expressing her thanks on behalf of the fellowship for the luncheon, announcing events occurring during the past month, the annual book sale, the mother daughter banquet and the ecumenical teachers appreciation brunch.Kay Muller passed a sample post card with a colored picture of the church. It was agreed the fellowship will sponsor the sale of these cards' at the craft fair. Future events include; Feb. 12, card party, $3 per couple including supper; craft fair workshop days Feb. 10, Feb. 13 and Feb. 21. Craft fair articles will be made.Lola Logan introduced Harriett Housel and Bill Verbrugge who presented the program. Using the book “Living, Loving and Learning by Leo Bascaglia, special emphasis was given to the values of love, understanding and forgiveness. Included in the musical organ renditions by Bill Verbrugge were “The Swan, “Bach Overture'‘“Chopin Prelude and “Handel’s Largo, closing with the ever impressive and beautiful “Be Still My Soul”.Marietta Berkhimer gave the devotions, the modem version of the 13th Chapter of Corinthians closing with a prayer.February Circle hostesses are: Circle One, Sheri Peterson; Circle Two, Linda Arends; Circle Three, Sally Amlie; Circle Four, Winfred Lennon; Circle Five, JoAnn Noack.Mrs. D. Harmon named to IVMA AuxiliaryMrs. Dean Harmon, Humboldt, has been appointed to the Mini Market Project of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association Auxiliary at its annual convention held at the Marriot Hotel in Des Moines on Jan. 29 through Feb. 1.The purpose of the IVMA Auxiliary is to assist the IVMA in advancing the ait of veterinary medicine, including its relationship to public health and agriculture. Several veterinary medicine scholarships and loans are alsosponsored through this group.
