By MRS. MARIE MERCER PLEASANT CITY — Sixteen junior and regular firemen of Pleasant City, received Red Cross First Aid cards and pat ches this week. The men spent 10 hours on basic first aid; 12 hours on standard first aid; and time on bandaging skills and drug abuse. Those taking the courses included John Bailey, Jeff Buckey, Jim Buckey, Tim Cale, Ed Chorey, Scott Hannahs, David Miser, Randy Moore, Brad Myers, Mike Stranathan, Sam Williams, Terry Williams, Tim Williams, William Wheeler, Larry Shriver and Dwaine Bacon. The men are also taking the state Trade and _ Industries course in _ firefighting, each Wednesday at the firehouse. It is a 36-hour course taught by Donald Palmer, McConnelsville. Every Friday until April 14 from 7 to 10 p.m., games will be sponsored by the firemen. A ham will be given away as a prize, and the public is invited. Builder’s Class Builder’s Class will meet Thursday, Feb. 17, with Mrs. Clarence McKee, president, presiding. Hostesses for the evening will be Pearl Sprout, Mary Lou Secrest and Lucy Young. OES To Meet The local Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 227, Pleasant City, will meet Tuesday, Feb. 15, in the Masonic Temple. Mrs. Lois Kirtley, worthy patron, and William Bond, worthy patron will preside. Refreshments will be served by Juanita Trott, Francis Se crest, Lois Gress and Dalton Se crest. Enlists Samuel T. Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Williams, left Monday for Ft. Knox, Ky., after enlisting recently in the U. S. Army. His address is: Pvt. Samuel T. Williams, 30052-9270 Co. A, 13th B.N., 4th Tag. Bde., ‘Ft. Knox, Ky., 40120 — 4th PLT. Brief Mention Mrs. Effie Neeland, Buffalo, has been ill in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. ,and Mrs. Herbert Neeland, Cambridge. Mrs. Susan German, head cook at Meadowbrook School and supervisor — coordinator of food service of Rolling Hills School District, was injured in a fall Sunday. She broke an ankle and was admitted to Guernsey Memorial Hospital for treatment.
