Adeline Depew died suddenly of heart trouble at 8 o’clock Tuesday morning at her home in Pittsburg. She had enioyed her usual good health until a few minutes before her death whenshe awakened and complained of apvere pains near her heart. Her sister, Mrs. Jacob Scheffee, of Lafayette, was with her, having accompanied Mrs. Depew home from Lafayette last week. The deceased was 65 years old and was the widow of Garrett A. Depew, a prominent merchant of Pittsburg in canal days. She was a charitable woman and many orphan children found a good home with her. George Wallace, of this city, was a brother of the deceased. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Pittsburg church. Ten days previously he was severely scalded while at work in a slaughter house. He was 82 years of age and leaves a sister, Mrs. Thomas Hawkins, of Kokomo.
