LARGE ATTENDANCE AT AMERICAN LEGION BANQUET AT SHIPROCK FRIDAYMore than a hundred persons attended a banquet at Shiprock last Friday evening sponsored by Wilbur F- Pierce Post No. 3 of the American Legion. The dinner was given for Shiprock veterans and other friends of the organisation. and some twenty Farmington members of the Legion and Auxiliary also attended.Roy Magarrell. Post Adjutant, was toastmaster and talks were given by Post Commander Paul B Palmer. G. L. Butler of the U. S. Veterans club Board of Directors. Lee Hubbard of the Window Rock Veterans Office. Principal Barrett ' of the Shiprock Schools, and E. O. Jonas of Shiprock.A musical program was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Milling. Mrs. Helen Campbell and Mrs. Faye Aimes, and the program concluded with community singing. The local Legion Post has a'number of members, both Navajo and white, in Shiprock and surrounding territory, and the din-'ner was given in appreciation of. them.
