Legislator Keeps Up Batting Average.Representative Tom Brolley gives thanks to the baseball enthusiasts of Scott and Jennings oounties for patting him into toe Legislature. For so many years back that he can’t remember the exact number Tom had been managing winning teams in andaround North Vernon, whipping the socks off the ball tossers from Beanville and Possum Hollow and a few of our Cubs and he became so “strong” with the public that it got to be a common saying that nothing was too good for Tom Brolley. In time he naturally came to be considered available timber for the Legislature.It was a glad day for Tom Brolley when he knocked a home run in the convention and carried offthe Democratic nomination. The Democratic press very politely said he had wiped up the earth with his opponent.Representative Brolley has two fads—baseball and women. He loves the first and has no use for the second. He is an old, old batchelor and he is Irish clear through. When he isn’t running baseball games or making laws he is a contractor. He proposes, to introduce a bill that will make Sunday baseball in Indianapolis lawful. It he could he would introduce a bill to free Ireland, He likes a good cigar, but he never smokes more than one at a time.o
