Mrs. John Pirkel was given a surpriseparty by friends last Thursday the occasion being her birthday. The afternoon and evening was spent in playing cards and games when all departedwishing her many more returns of the day. Those present were: MesdamesEd. Krause, Sr., James Selland the Misses Kathryn Ambrose, Caroline Weiner and Clara and Marie Bischel.
