* * *Mrs. Emma Cadwallader-Guild, whose home is in Zanesville, is anxious to have the legislature pay $6,000 for a bust of the late William Mc-Kinley, which she has sculptured -with deft fingers, Mrs. Cadwallader-G-uild has been abroad for some years, and she has met with much success in her artistic work. She recently sold a bust of the martyred president to congress and she thinks Ohio should purchase a lasting likeness o£ the beloved, Buckeye son. The bust has been on exhibition in the senate chamber and has been highly commended. The state has not done much, m this particular way to commemorate the lives of sons of Ohio. A bust of 'Lincoln occupies a prominent position, in the eapitoi rotunda, and, besides the statue, “My Jewels,” in the state house yard,' there is nothing to glorify the deeds of patriots and eminent sons. Large sums of money have been spent for monuments and markers on extra-state battlefields, and now many legislators favor expending money for suitable statues or busts to grace the state house and its en-T mvkcms.* * *
