The home wasdecorated with holiday greenery.Guests Were Dr. and Mrs. JamesCasey, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Welch,and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Norwood. Following the games high scoreprizes were presented to Mrs. Charles Norwood and Dr. JamesCasey.Refreshments reflecting the holiday theme were served consisting of wild turkey salad, stuffed celery, caraway wafers, fruit cake with whipped cream and coffee.Mrs. Ralph Gause was a charming hostess Thursday afternoon when she entertained members of I the Silk Stocking club, at the home; of Mrs. O. L. Byrd.Red hibiscus in hand blown blue glass vases provided the floraladornment. Preceding the games, Mrs. Gause served tamales and coffee.High score award was presentedto Mrs. Harry Foehner. Mrs. A. W. Poizin was a guest.Mrs. R. B. Goolsby will entertainthe club next.Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Byrd entertained the Friday Night Bridge club at their home on North Travis avenue. Holiday colors of red and green were used for decoration. Poinsettias and red hibiscus were chosen for floral adornment.1 Following the game prizes were presented to Mr. and Mrs. PaulCowan of Weslaco. Guests wereMr. and Mrs. A W. Poizin. At a late hour chocolate cake and coffee were served.Mr and Mrs. Eugene LeMarshali entertained at dinner recently, having as their guests Mr. and Mrs. S. i H. M Cash W’ednesday afternoon for the annual Christmas party. Christmas greenery provided atmospherefor the living room. The fireplace was cheery with poinsettias. turk’s cap and red roses. A Christmas tree was central adornment.Mrs. Nan C. Rigsbee, president,briefly conveyed to members and guests her Christmas message.A favorite verse of Scripture relating to the Christ Child and to the Christmas sesaon was given by members when answering roll call. Mrs. F. C. Richey of Los Fresnos,played piano accompaniment during the singing of Christmas carols and then played a solo composition by Rubinstein.A Christmas carol was sung by Mrs. James D. Ward, followed by a talk on “Customs of Christmas,” some of which date back to the Nativity, and concluded with the expressed regret that the season ofChristmas is more of a fesitvity than it is of religious thought. Dr Hugh R. Robertson was speaker.Mrs. Frank Grimsell was in charge of the tree which held gifts for all. The tea table was beautiful with a lace cover and centerpiece of bright red poinsettias and fern. Mrs.H. M. Cottrell poured coffee which was served with Christmas dainties in attractive designs and colors8pecial guests for the afternoon were Dr. and Mrs. Hugh R. Robertson. Mrs. Homer Ludden of Corpus Christ!, Mrs. J. C. Richey of Los Fresnos, Miss Earle Dawson of San Antonio and Miss Sadie Roberts. Members present were Mesdames Charles Barber, James Sweeney, E.I.
