Too much money was the cause for the downfall of Frank Meirose, Fordyce postmaster who faces charges of having embezzled $2,676.61 of government funds, he told Norfolk authorities.The postmaster, who served for more than thirteen years, says he knew his accounts were not right, but believed it would have beenimpossible to spend the amountw'hich is missing.Meirose claims he had so much money he didn't know what to do with it. After the bank at Fordyce closed, he related, the oostal savings department of the post-office showed a heavy increase.
