In addition the Cubs played mid-week ball at'home and away with fast Independent teams and clubs of the Southern Minnesota league.‘■Hook McClurg- started out as manager of the club, but the post was later given to Eddfe Wytulla.Near the end of the season, talk of starting a semi-pro league was beard over in the western part of the state. This circuit was intended to include a team from either Mason City or Clear Lake. RJtz said be would welcome a chnnco to enter the league as be believed such an organization would furnish faster opponents for hia team, but stipulated that he would like to have Sunday games at home If possible.Recently there* has been little heaitl on the formation of such n league.
