LocustSessue Hayakawa, the accomplished Japanese actor, was seen at the I/O-cust yesterday in his latest screen drama, “The Tong Man,*’ which, as the title implies, has to do with one of the secret orders of the Orient. He plays the role of a young Celestial who, though American-born, allies himself with the Tong, showing his selection to perform a dastardly crime which higher education and his better judgment forbid. It is a story of intrigue and spies, with a vein of romance in a love affair, and gives Hayakawa splendid opportunities. In contrast to this was a Mack Sennett comedy, entitled “The Ladies’ Tailor,” with Ben Turpin and his associates endeavoring to chase the blues away.
