There was quite a scare in our little town on Saturday night. Herbert Rumsey came into town early in the evening with horse .and buKgy, and tied near Dr. Williams yard. He then went to call on a friend near this place, and returnirg near mid* night found himself two miles from home without a conveyance. Thinking his horse might have got loose and gone home, he followed up immediately, but they were not found; and naturally enough everybody supposed they were stolen. Bat when ffilliam Peairs was returning with his family from the Christmas tree at P. B, Varavm’e at « late hour, he discovered a horse hitched t» a buggy keeping Christ* mas in a very quiet, leisurely manaer; as Mr. Peairs was near his home he took up the horse and cared fer it, where it was found Sunday afteraoen by the owner.
