The following gentlemen were elected to office: President, K. M. Bynon; vice preftidenif Isaiah Lairman; treasurer, Thomas Connell; secretary, Charles II. Judy; chief engineer, John McGinnis; hall keeper, Thomas Troxel, jr.Messrs. Bynon, Connell, Judy and McGinnis were re-elected to their respective offices, which they filled so efficiently during the past year.A vote of thanks to Mr. Bynon, moved by Mr. Bernard O’Donnell, in acknowledgment of the fidelity and ability with which he had performed the duties of president of the company, evoked from the meeting an energetic and unanimous aye, followed by hearty applause.hr. Byn on expressed his gratitude to the members, not only for their voto of thanks, hut for the still greater compliment of re-electing him president, lie encouraged them to persevere in their present career of increasing efficiency and respectability of conduct, assuring them that though he would bo absent from their meetings, nothing should obliterate them from his memory. lie* would always think of them with pleasure, and hoped his cordial wishes for their future welfare would never le disappointed.Owing to the great facilities for communication between distant places afforded in the present age, he would be enabled.to correspond frequently with them, and be with them occasionally in person at their future meetings. Judging from the enthusiastic applause with whi:h his speech was greeted, Mr-llvnon lias evidently attained popularity among the members of the SouthCumberland Hose Company.
