An effort has been made to extend a personal invitation, to such but in case of an accideiital going astray of the message or any oversight in locating everyone, the invitation is urged in this way. The hours of the reception are from 3 to 5 o'clock, but because of the fact that there is to be a musical attraction during the time, it is also hoped that people will time their arrival.if possible, so as to not interrupt the music, which will be in two divisions. the first at half past 3 and the second at 4:1.5. The musical attraction is a wonderfully talented young hoy violinist from Chicago. Abram Sopkin, who will be accompanied at the piano by George Bailhe. All college women and girls who are to attend' the reception are requested to so notify Mrs. B. W. Rhamy, as it is obvious that the club should know approximately how many to provide for.Pupils Please Their Hearers.Stormy weather interfered very little with the attendance in Packard hall last evening of people interested in a recital by pupils in piano and harmony of Miss Gertrude Schick, of the European School of Music faculty. The hall was nearly filled and the audience expressed a keen interest and much enjoyment in the program. The piano work was clean in execution and there were evidences all of the time of discipline in time, accuracy, rythm and poetic interpretation. An eight hand arrangement of an overture by Weber brought the request to have it repeated at some future recital. Assisting the piano pupils were Mrs. Della Boerger Garrison, who sang extremely well, and a Miss Bertha Werkman, violinist, who showed excellent progress. Both are pupils at the school of music. A still further item of much interest was the hearing of original compositions by pupils in theory and harmony of Aliss Schick, which were discussed by the audience with lively interest. A Christmas song by Elfrieda Trier and a boat song by Alma Rehm were noticed for beauty of melody and a short fugue by LaVerne Williams for its clever illustration of counterpoint.Kronniiller—Anson.Mr. C.
