THOUSANDS WILLSINGICAROLSThe Elks Big Christmas Tree Has Been Erected And Program Arranged— Thousands Will AttendTHe large tree for the Eiks Christmas tree celebration to he held onChristmas night, has been placed in\position directly in front of the public libt'ary. The tree is a beautiful specimen about HO feet high, perfect in shape and is on u raised platform with four smaller trees surrounding it. Electricians are at work wiring the tree and when illuminated with hundreds of different colored lights will make a very pretty sight.The true is for the. boys and girls of Grand Rapids under 16 years of age, and everyone of them is expected to be present at tho exercises on Christmas night.The place selected for the big treeis unquestionably one of the best in the city and indications arc that thousands of people will be out at the coming occasion. :very child present will receive a bag of sweets and horn from Santa Claus and his assistants.The tree will be decorated tomorrow. It is planned now to spray the tree and let it freeze. This will give it a very pretty appearance. Of course there will be other decorations on the tree in the many difTerent colors and the Elks promise Grand Rapids children the prettiest tree ever seen here.There will be a big bon-fire on the market square around which the little ones can frolic and keep warm.The program as urranged by the Elks will be aft follows:You will choose your own meeting place and be there at 6:30 Christmas evening.West side pieces for meeting arc St. Paul Depot, Northwestern Depot and Moravian church school rooms.East Side Catholic School building, Methodist church and Congregational church school rooms.There will be Elks to meet them at each of those places and take charge of line of march.We will leave the Catholic school an/i the St. Paul depots at exactly G:45 and gather the other lines of march on way to Tree.At The TreePresentation of Tree to Giris and Hoys by Presiding Officer Mr. Nor-mington.March singing Tannenbaum load by Comets.Giving of Cracker Jack to every one in line.Singing of America.Giving of Horns and March around the Big Bon Fire.Disband.
