Circus Hall Of Fame Acts PreviewedHotel and motel operators, busi-1 ness and civic leaders attended a dress rehearsal of the winter circus acts at the Circus Hall of Fame Tuesday night. Victor Sabattini, president of the Circus Hall of Fame, introduced the rehearsal.“Do you realize this is a national institution, known and recognized throughout the United Staes,” asked Sabattini. “Just as the Baseball Hall of Fame does not represent any one baseball team, theCircus Hall of Fame does not represent any one circus. Elections to the Circus Hall of Fame aremade by a National Awards Committee composed of 12 persons who are authorities on circus lore.”Col. B. J. Palmer, who contributed the Barnum and Bailey band wagon which stands in the glass window on North Trail, was asked to stand and received an ovation.“An attraction such as this is a means of persuading tourists to delay their departure another day,” continued Sabattini. “You are Sarasota’s salesmen. To be a good salesman, one must know his merchandise. You owe it to yourselvesto visit Sarasota’s attractions andbecome acquainted with what they have to offer. There are more attractions in the immediate area of Sarasota than in any other community in Florida. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are spent in advertising Sarasota’s attraction* in guide books distributed throughout the United States, magazines, newspapers, radio and TV. bill* boards and brochures, distributed widely throughout the country.’*
