Deputy Sheriff Harry Odum of Madison Trailed One of Men Which Led to Capture of Others.Six men arrested at East St, Louis in connection with a series of robberies were placed in the Madison County Jail here late Saturday afternoon, County authorities say that a score of Madison and St. Clair robberies will be cleared up through the arrests made during the past week. Arrival of the group with another sextet from CollinsviPe, swelled the jail enrollment to 45 prisoners after Sheriff Peter Fitzgerald had anticipated a low record number,Those from East St. Louis are charged with robbery while armed. Officers said that kidnat hng charges may be made against some of the six. Finding of an officer's badge in possession of Joe Sharp of the East St. Louis gang, caused a charge of impersonating an officers, against himThe other five are residents of East St, Louis 01* hav-e been operating out of that city officers say. They are Robert Marshall, 23, Murphysboro; Lester Clark, Piedmont, Mo,, Harry Branihof alias Harry Kelly, S2» Charles Buchman, 24, and Edward Moore, 22. East Si. Louis. Officers believe that Sharp, formerly of Chicago was loader of the gang.Deputy Sheriff Harry Odum, Madison, started the arrest* as early as last Tuesday when Buchman was picked up in connection with kidnaping an aged man by the name of Frank Wolshock, who accepted a ride under belief he would be taken to Chester. Instead he was taken to a point near Eagle Park and robbed of $19 and a handbag containing his clothes.Buchman and Moore were together when the fiist arrest was made. Questioning of them led to other arrests until six were taken into custody. Accoiding to Mr. Odum, Sharp has been connected with a robbery at an East St. Louis mail 01 dor house ir which $800 were stolen.
