Kaukauna—About 750 adults and many students expressed tbeir appreciation for the operetta and musical program offered Jy the Kaukauna High school'vocal department Wednesday night in the school auditorium.I The operetta, “Hark, The jHerald Angels Sing,” was an [innovation this year and was j staged under the direction of Adrian McGrath, vocal xn-Istructor. Assisting with the ^performance were Miss Barbara Little, instructor in charge of the drama group at the school, and James Kreit-zer, art instructor, who supervised the stage and art work.Soprano SoloOpening the program was Miss Marjorie Malkson, grade school vocal teacher, who sang “I Wonder as I Wander,” and “No Candle Was There and No Fire.” The soprano was* accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Guy Krumm, instructor at Park grade school.Joanne Yandehey, a junior at the high school, presented a pantomime on “I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas.” The freshmen-sophomore girls’ glee club sang “Winter Wonderland,” “The Birthday of a iKing,” and “Mister Santa.” A [chorus of seventh grade boys, ! singing soprano, also offered several Christmas carols. Accompanists were Muriel Mon-gin and Florence Schmidt.Leading roles In the operetta were taken by Barbara Boyd, David Foxgrover, Cyril jVander Horst, Dale Van Dykeand Daniel Derks. Girl* taking the party of “merrymakers” were Darlene VII*, Susan Dix, Joan DeBruin, Nancy Bfselx, Sherrill Kimpell, Carol Wollaugk, Karen Krumm and Ellyn Verbeten.Others were Karla Kuchel* meister, Lois WeLhoUse, Marlene Steffens, Kathleen Rossi,-Joan Yandehey, Rita Kilgas, Karen Grebe, Shirley O'Brien, Naomi Tyson, Joanne Pahl, Lynn Pechman and Carol Skibba.v_Holiday Dance Theme Selected By KHS PupilsDecoration for 'Blue Christmas' Being PreparedKaukauna — “Blue Christmas” was selected as th* theme for the annual holiday dance which will wind up pre-Christmas activity for Kaukauna High school students Saturday night in the school gymnasium.Dancing to a local orchestra will get underway at 8 and continue until 11 p.m. Tickets are $1.25 per couple if purchased in advance and will ba $1.50 at the door.
