First place honor wasawarded Anita Raper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Raper.KarschnikMrIand Mrs. A. H. Sutton won third place honors.Part two of the program was a musical variety revue. As the curtain opened the entire ensemble sang .“Christmas Is Here.”Background for this portion of the program was a drop of red and gold. This was used for several numbers which included the follow-Caudle reading “Santa’s Secret.f#Mrs. Jack Purdy played “Joy To the World” with variations and chimes.ing:Mary Linda Dicus singing “I Get So Lonely,” Woody Jumper read-“My Ma. She Knows.” LoumgThe Girls’ Chorus sang “W h i t e Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland” with Nancy Dveney as soloist.esiiAnn and Ruth Anderson singing “Side By Side.” Judith Lillard singing in blackface How ’ya Go na Keep ’em Down On the Farm.” Sue Crossett singing “St. Louis Blues” and Anna Lee Smith read-“Hoosier and the Minister.”mgSue Crossett did “Skater’s Waltz Ballet” and Betty Kay Orebaugh sang “Here Comes Santa Claus.”The program was concluded by the finale chorus by the entire ensemble.mg,IEach participant was in appropriate costume.Background for the remainder of the program was a beautiful winter scene which was painted by Jack Purdy.As the curtain opened Phyllis Warmack introduced in a leading eight small girls, dressed as poin-settias. who did a clever skit.This was followed bv AlomaMrs. Jack Purdy was piano accompanist for the show and Mr. Purdy was in charge of the decorations and the specialty acts.Others appearing on the program besides those named included Helen Jean Beesley, Walter Glover. Glynda Beasley, Don Glover, Sandra Kay Wyatt. Rebecca McPherson, Sheila Boyd. Anita Raper. Melba Joe Caudle. Connie and Melvin Macsas.
