li.ATTEMPTED MURDER.Bud Ditto o! Oquawka Shot at Through Window—Assailant Unknown.Last Tuesday evening about lt;j o'clock “Bud” Ditto, proprietor of the “One Horse Saloon” at Oquawka was shot and probably fatally wounded by an unknown assailant, who fired both barrels of a shot gun at him through the window, the first shot entering through the flesh of the upper part of his back and the muscles of his neck. He fell to the floor so that the second shot missed him entirely, but came very near to a man standing by, who fortunately escaped with only a slight wound in his ear.Mr. Ditto was taken at once to his home and physicians summoned, fllis condition is thaught to be very serious.The identity of the assailant is unknown and the Oquaw ka officers have scarcely any clue on which to work.
