WestSullivan.I'liis community wns shocked last Tuesday by the death of Genie Mattocks.Monday evening she practiced with the Puritan Assembly K. of P. sisterhood until about 10 o'clock,and then not wishing to go home alone, went in to spend the night with Mrs. Sargent. During the night she was taken sick and her mother andJ3r. Haskell were called and every thing done to relieve her hut in vain. She passed qu:etly away at 2.30 p. m. Tuesday. The deceased was beloved by all who knew her and had made a place in their hearts by her gentle and unassuming ways. Although young in years she was prominent in church work and will be greatly missed many ways. She leaves a father and mother and several brothers and sisters to mourn her early death. One sister, Mrs. Bella Grant, resides in Scotland. The people of the town unite in sympathy with them in their affliction. Her age was fifteen years. tMessrs. A. McKenzie, William and Eben Mattocks were called from New York Wednesday by the death of their sister. M r. M attocks and another brother Henry, were at North Joy and met them in Bangor, all coming home together.Harry Paul a peddler, froze every finger on both hands last Monday while trying to get his horse up which had fallen down in the snow.Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bunker went to Chcrryfield Friday.M. I.. Stevens lodge K. of P. went to Ellsworth to the School of Instruction last Wednesday.
