Local boy takes Gloves crownLloyd Crlss III of La Marque heads a list of four Galveston County youngsters who won division championships in the First Annual Platinum Gloves Boxing Tournament Saturday night in Houston.LLOYD CRISS IIICriss, who weighs 85 pounds, won the title in the Junior Division. More than 150 boys competed in the tournament;Criss is a member of the League City Boxing Club,' sponsored by the League City Jaycees and coached by Walt Hailey.Lupe Galvan, 55 pounds; of Galveston won the Pee Wee division. Roy Stanton, 105 pounds and PatHarrison, 118 pounds, both of League City, both took titles in the Novice Division.
