Mr. Denmark was one of the most successful among the many successful planters of Brooks county. He was a trnegentleman in every, sense of that term. Pablic spirited, liberal, conservative, yet firm in his convictions of right, he was a citizen of which any county or state might beproud. Mr. Denmark was at the time of bis death chairman of the board of county commissioners of •bis county. He was, also, a member of the board of trustees of the South Georgia College in Tbomas-ville, and always took a lively interest in the success of that istitu-tion. His funeral took place at Hickory Head church on Sunday and was largely attended. The funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. E. B. Carroll, who paid a glowing tribute to the yirtues ofthe deceased.
