Southern California Edison Company again reminds its customers of energyproblems and suggests prudent and wise use of electricity.“People decorating their homes and business placeswith lights can balance their demonstration of the holiday spirit with the spirit of energy conservation.” according to R R Verrue. distnct manager for SCEEnergy savings can be accomplished by limiting the hours of use, by installing fewerltghts and by using lamps with lower wattages to help reduce the energy consumed — and saving money as well, he saidHe offers the following suggestions for wise use of home holiday lightingMidget lights save power — 200 of them use only 72 watts And twinkle types use only about half of this because they are asleep” half the time (200 of the standard C-7 Christmas lights would use 1.400 watts )Christmas lights serve as substitutes for regulars” — Turn off as many other lights as practicable For instance, turn off two 100-watt bulbs for 25 standard C-7 bulbs ... or one 75-watt bulb for 200 midget bulbs.
