Mrs. Bertha Eddy and Mrs. Em-*met Heaton Hostesses Yesterday Afternoon.%'tMrs. Bertha Eddy and Mrs. Emmett Heaton were joint hostesses for the Hyacinth club yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Heaton on South Main street, at'which time they entertained with a Christmas party.The home was cleverly decorated. Christinas designs made of red and green paper were suspended about tne rooms and in the center of the spacious living room was a beautiful Christmas tree equipped with colored electric lights and suspended on this tree was a gift for each member of the club, which added much to the attractiveness of the decorations.At roll call eighteen members responded with a proverb and gave an illustration. A splendid report on charity work by the committee and much charity work is being done by the members of the club. Three con tests were given. In the turkey contest Mrs. Elsie Huffman won theAprize, which was a beautiful bath towel. In the peanut contest Mrs. »Har]oy Ham carried away the honors with a pretty china cup and saucer. Mrs. Bertha Eddy was the fortunateone in the Dean contest and was win-♦ner of a lovely cup and saucer. Areading* by Mrs. Huffman, “Christmas Quarters in Nigger Town,” was a most amusing feature of the program, and a reading by Mrs. Tate, “The Old Christmas Trapper,” was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Musical selections on the Edison were played throughout the afternoon. A delicious plate luncheon was served by the hostesses.The club adjourned to meet in two we^ks with Mrs. Elsie Huffman.
