The Rebels manager, Joseph Perigo, received official word of the engagement from the Dick Clark Productions last week.Members of the group are Joe A. Doris, unable to sleep takes a sleeping potion, then pours the entire bottle contents into a glass and passes out on a couch.Robert Morris whose c ar broke down comes in for help, sees the unfinished drink, helps himself, then passes out on another convenient couch. In the meantime Patrick enters to find them both asleep. Imagine his feelings!Then, in comes Terry Thomas the producer and makes suggestions. There is a lot more to “When the Lights Went Out,” all of which sounds as though you will keep awake during that movie wfiich starts SundayBoswell, a junior at Jenner-Boswell High School; Billy Joe Wentz, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Wentz; and Geary Mau-zey, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Mauzey of Boswell. Wentz and Mauzey are both Jenner-Boswell High School graduates.Perigo is the vocalist and plays rhythym guitar; Poper-nack plays base guitar: Mauzey, lead guitar; Wentz, the organ; and Lawther the drummer.The group was organized in the spring of 1967. Some of the first engagements for the group were with the Boswell Area Jaycees who were charteredabout the same time the group was organized.“The Rebels” provided the entertainment at various events sponsored by the Jaycees free of charge, thus assisting the Jaycees in establishing two groups in the Boswell Area.In addition to appearing for the Jaycees, “The Rebels” played for other charities such as the March of Dimes and various church and firemen’s organizations.The Boswell Area Jaycees, who sponsor the group, are holding a benefit dance on Sunday 9 p.m. in the Boswell American Legion Hall, to raise money to finance the boys trip to Los Angeles, Calif. All proceeds from the dance will be donated by the Jaycees toward the transportation costs. T heBoswell American Legion is donating the use of its facilities. Music for the dance will be provided by “The Rebels.”The boys will leave Boswell for California on Thursday in order to be in Los Angeles for the taping of the show on Dec. 21.The exact date for the show is not known, but it will be in early January.Television station WTAE-Channel 4 in Pittsburgh will air
