Ada Civic Symphony Program SuccessOrchestra, Chorus Combine For Delightful MusicFrom the first note of “Hymn to Diana” to the closing strains of “Finlandia” the unofficial national hymn of Finland, the program of the Ada Civic Symphony presented on Sunday afternoon under the sponsorship of the MacDowell Club of Allied Arts, was a distinct success.To an appreciative audience atthe McSwain Theatre, the orchestra and chorus presented a program nicely balanced and of pleasing variation. The “Peer Gynt Suite” by Grieg was well received, and the orchestra made a colorful picture, attired ■ in formal dress-Especially, well done was the “Moonlight Sonata” by Beethoven, sung by the' mixed chorus, with Miss Katherine Robineit, contralto, and Miss . Geneva Shedd, soprano. The chorus responded to an' encore with “The Angelus” by Lowrance.Miss Helen Collins excelled her usual .exquisite- violin playing in two solo numbers, - “A Short Story” by Gershwin, and “Mosquitoes” by Fairchild. She was accompanied by Mrs. Dorothy McGee .Stubbs.One of the feature numbers of the program was the director, Harlo E. McCall’s 'own arrangement of an old song, “Three Blind Mice Go Modern,” played by a woodwind quintet composed of Ellen Joyce Freeman, Grace Marie Wilson, Alice Stephens, Charles C. Chism and A. W. Kennedy. This group also responded to an encore with another of Prof. McCall’s arrangements. “Rock-a-bye, Swing-a-bye Baby.” Members of the chorus include June Cameron, Helen Edwards, Marie Epperly, Ellen Joyce Freeman, Hazel Garrett, Jane Grove, Evelyn Joe Greenhaw, Pauline Hough, Martha Hammons, June Little, Dona Vaye Lynn, Peggy Malloy, Aletha Pearl McCroskey, Kathryn Robnett, Eileen Tilley, Jo Helen Yeokum, John Johnson, Robert Brunson, _ Merl Taft Lucian Wadelle, Lila Lee Baker, Maxine Glazner, Lullean Gleg-, horn, Hazel Watson, Ralph Watson, Geraldine Hayes. Lawson Jones, John Moore, Inez McMillan, Doris Kelson, Wanda Oliver, | Leona Omstead, Martha Perot,; Sarah Jo Perot, Marjorie Stephenson, Grace Watson, Mary Ann Dale, Jack Swisher, Helen Marie Kirkland.The orchestra is composed of Miss Helen J.
