CHARLES AUSTIN BATES.fP' (SPECIAL TO THE SUN.NEW YORK, Dec. 11.—Owing to an •lleged discrepancy in the vote In the election of Miss Emma Beckwith M president of the Daughters of Ohio, a recount of the ballots has been discussed by partisans of Mrs. Charles Austin Bates, who was the candidate rf the so-called social faction. A vigorous campaign was made againsther by the business women In the Daughters because, it Is said, she wore stylish hats and dresses. The vote which Is questioned was .11 for for Miss Beckwith and 27 for Mrs. Bates—a total of 58, although •t is claimed that only 49 ballots weit given out to be voted. That there will be a recount is doubtful, because it 1b reported that the bailots have been, destroyed.
