NORTH, SOUTH POLES TO GO, OFFICIALS SAYAdmiral Byrd would never have approved, but officials In Salt Lake City and County had decided to do away with the north and south poles.At first, the county wanted to keep the south pole, but a group of irate citizens felt that both should be retained. G. Martin, 931 Malvern Ave., volunteered to raise money to purchase flags if they would be used.
