10 A DESERET NEWS, Tuesday, December 9, 1969Ms v s eAourA movie and several concerts in Japan are in store for Utah’s Osmond brothers, according to Mrs. George Osmond, their mother, who arrived in Utah Monday for a short stay.The film will be made at Disneyland about Jan. 12, Mrs. Osmond said she hadbeen informed. It will be about Disneyland and will feature the Osmonds appearing on all the rides and touring the famous resort, where they made the public appearanceswhich resulted in their rise to movie-TV-concert stardom.Before the movie, they are scheduled for several appearances at military bases and concert halls in Tokyo, and Osaka, Japan. These shows will mark their second groupof concerts in Japan.They will leave the U.S. Dec.19 for Japan and remain In Japan until New Years Eve. Then they will travel to Hawaii, where they will remain for four days. Mrs. Osmond pointed out that this means the Osmonds will celebrate two New Year’s Eves, one in Japan and the other in Hawaii. They will work on Christmas, however.After the Hawaii tour, the Osmonds will return to the mainland and go into the Disneyland movie.Currently, the Osmond Rrothers are headlining the show at Caeaar’s Palace in I as Vegas. On a previous appearance there, they co-starred with Phil Harris and extra tables and chairs had to be set up for the audiences attracted to the show.OsmonThey were on the same program as Nancy Sinatra at the International Hotel. They received most of the plaudits at the time, according to the reviewers. They will be atCaesar’s Palace Until Dec. 14.The Utah singing group also Is scheduled to perform in SanFrancisco after they finish the Disneyland stint. They also are taping shows with AndyWilliams.Work has been going ahead on a television series to star the Osmonds and which would tell about their lives. It was to be introduced in 1970, but according to present plans it may have to he held over for a season, .according to Mrs. Osmond.The Osmonds have been the subject of Tecent Hollywood columns which have told howthey have gained their education through tutors who accompany them on their trips.Two who were eligible to take college entrance examinations placed high in the tests, but have decided to study by correspondence from BYU and continue with the group.Wayne, 18, who graduates from high school this year, will take private flying lessons on the side with the eventual aim of flying the family to concerts, according to present plans.Purse StolenBurglars stole a purse containing $250 from a shopping cart at a supermarket at 2705 Parleys Way. The owner of the purse was identified as Mrs. Dean Moulton, Heber.
