THE PROSPERITY DINNERThe stage is all set for the big prosperity dinner at theTerrace hotel Tuesday evening, December 14th. It is unfortunate there is not room to accommodate all the people who wish to attend this function. We are not surprised that hundreds are not able to secure places at this banquet. We have grown tired and weary of pessimism and gloom. A prosperity dinner is calculated to throw a lot of spiritual sunshine into our lives and bring to our attention the many and substantial conditions about us which are full of encouragement and cheer. The prosperity dinner proposition is certainly timely and it cannot do otherwise than prove highly beneficial.Sarasota is all right. Strangers coming into this city and looking us over are amazed at our many evidences o( prosperity. They find our banks sound and well supplied with money. They see our streets jammed full of parked automobiles and thousands of people thronging our business centers. In every direction they see scores of buildings in process of erection and gaze in amazement upon other scores which in the last year or two have been built. When they look out over the city from the roof garden of the Sarasota Terrace hotel, they behold a panorama of landscape and water, both extensive and magnificent. It is no wonder they come to the conclusion that Sarasota is one of the most substantial and promising cities of the state*We do not know what anyone should want in the wayof a winter residence that is not found in Sarasota. Weather such as we arc now having is not surpassed anywherein the w’orld. Our golf courses are all in excellent condition and afford golfers the most exquisite delight. We hear daily of people who come in from fishing trips loaded with catches of the finny tribe. The hunting in and about this territory is surpassingly fine at this time and many a hunter is bagging his full quota of game and bearing it home in triumph. Dinner dances are to be enjoyed in allourt hotels and pavilions, our roads are unexcelled for motoring, bathing at our beaches is inviting and stimulating and we know of no want or pleasure that Sarasota is not prepared to meet and gratify. All these things the ?prosperity dinner will emphasize.A
