Annual eventChildren present mini-powwow(Related pholo on page 1)TAMA—Children of the Intermediate School here were treated to a minipow wow presented by 31 students from the Sac-Fox School at the Mesquakic Settlement.This is the third year the children have staged the mini-pow wow the day before Thanksgiving.Carol Potack, a teacher at the Settlement school, explains that date is chosenbecause of the relations developedbetween the Indians and settlers at the first Thanksgiving.“The purpose of this event is for cultural enlightenment, she continues, adding it also gives the younger children an opportunity to exhibit their talents.Children ages 5 to 13 years participated in full costume.
