Sanchez accepts oath of office as postmaster at InspirationJoe M. Sanchez has been sworn in as postmaster of the Inspiration Post Office. He received his appointment last week under the postmaster selection program of the US Postal Service.βIt is always gratifying to come to a community and swear in a new postmaster,β said Arnold Elias, SCF/manager of Tucson during Sanchez swearing in ceremonies.We anguish over things done and not done, but we attempt to do our best to provide a communication service to the people of our nation.βI think we do a good job. We provide a service, second to none,β Elias told Sanchez and the assembled delegation on hand for the ceremonies.Sanchez is a member of the Miami Lions Club, Miami Vandal Booster Club, has helped with the Babe Ruth and Little League baseball programs and is member of our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.HE IS a 1954 Miami High Schoolgraduate. He and his wife, Ginger, have two sons: Mike, a 16-year-old junior at MHS, and Billy, a 12-year-old seventh grader at GeorgeWashington.Sanchez is the son of Mrs. Anita Sanchez and the late Jose Sanchez of Miami. He was named the Citizen of the Year for Miami in 1974.Sanchez is a native of Miami and currently lives in Miami with his wife, Ginger, and two children. He served in the US Army from April 1958 to March 1961.The new postmaster assumes his duties after extensive postal ex perience since entering the postal service in October 1961.HE WAS designated as officer-in-charge of the Inspiration Post Office in December 1976. Prior to this detail, Sanchez was a carrier in the Miami Post Office.The Inspiration Post Office has annual postal receipts of $22,596. As postmaster, Sanchez will earn$15,236 annually.
