A peep into Floral Hall win* of Mimic Hall reveals a remarkable degree of bustle and excitement. Preparations are being made for the great carnival to eome off next week. We understand that an exoeedingly brilliant department is added to its attractions. The Italian oolony will be under Mme. A. Ravogli and a noble band of Italian ladies, arrangements having been made for the Bountiful Lady In j other parts of the carnival, that this fine executive woman cpuld be identified with the splendid element to which she properly belongs, Rome, its patricians, its pool, sweet gardens, its sylvan retreats, the Florentine garden, with its graceful statues, its attractive art, Its grottoes and restful shade. The names of the committee having this lovely representative nationality in charge will be given in a few days, not being complete at present(o)There will be a very important meeting of the ladies of the Swedish booth at the Hotel Alms this morning at 9:30 o'clock. It is positively necessary that all the ladies should be present.—(o)—The southwest end booth., known as England, will hold its last meeting at the residence of the Chairman, \lrs. T. L. A. Grave, 108 West Eighth street, tomorrow• morning, December 9, at 10 o’clock. All interested in the booth are requested to be present. It is hoped that all cash donations and all articles presented to England will be sent to the house of the Chairman on or before Friday, and that all ladies soliciting for the booth will re-t turn their books on that morning.—(o—, The ladies of the Northside Branch of• the Carnival of Nations have arranged to• give a euchre on next 8aturday afternoon, December 10, at 1:30 o’clock, at MasonicI Hall, Hamilton avenue, Northside.
