Death of Geo. F. £d«on.After a severe illness of twelve ' weeks with heart disease George F. 1 Edson, father of Deputy Auditor F.P. Edson, died shortly before four o’clock Tuesday morning at his residence on West Main street, aged 64 years, 4 months and 7 days. He fought the destroyer with courage and patience through many weary days and nights but finally had to yield to the unequal struggle, though unwillingly. Consciousness left him a few days before the final hour so that death was as painless as it was peaceful. Mr. Edson was a peculiarman, but beloved by those who knew him well. No less did he enjoy the pleasures of home than to take his gun for an indefinite hunt in the woods, being fond of this sport from his boyhood days. In 1849 he and Wash Zeigler went to California, returning in 1855.[George Fox Edson was born in this stale on July 28, 1829, died December 5, 1893. He moved to Van Wert in1846, was married to ElizabAh Slater iu 1857, in the old Methodist church which stood then near the P., F. W. C. railroad, corner Jackson and Jefferson streets.
