'The 18 young people in the singing, dancing, and instrumentalist group are relatively unknown outside their city. However, they are expected to attract large, * enthusiastic ai^-diencis as they did last Christmas season. .* !Hanging in age from 12 through 20, the Las Vegas Ambassadors had beeri organized only a few months when they were jnvited to entertain at the Hippodrome of Circus on “The Strip”5 in Las Vegas.Record AttendanceThe I dates were • between Christmas and New; Year’s Day, Considered the “slow” period in the entertainment busi-quvuv vugtalents. During five days ofperformances, they entertainedsome 7,000 persons; 2,000 others were turned away. This record was acclaimed by Las Vegas business leaders as “outstanding” for a nonprofessional group.The Ambassadors’ enthusiasm for singing Americanaand popular selections convinced officers of . the Lions Club of Nevada that this youth-ful’group should accompany them to the Lions International convention held in July at Tokyo. , .The singing group consists of pupils from the Clark County School system and from the student body of the UniversityPrincess Anne’s Royal DiaryFull of Winter EngagementsPrinless Anne of England has been leading a busy life asfavorite greens and yellows with a dash of military red.the Ambassadors have performed before! conventions in Las Vegas hotels, mostly in their leisure time. They aretan attractively dressed grou£— girls wearing simple minidresses and white cowgirl boots; the boys dressed in turtle-necked sweaters, white trousers, and white sneakers.Credit to TownThe young entertainers aredirected by Norman Kaye, a professional singer and poet laureate of Nevada. He has composed several selectionsfor the group and has arranged others. The choreography is directed by Richie Astone.“The young people are truly a credit to Las Vegas and to Nevada,” said Kaye. “Theyare strictly dedicated to t h ecommunity welfare.”
