Judge Hoffman lost to Graybill in the Nov. 3 election.Buttehnore, 42, will become the second 15-year veteran lost by the police department in recent months. Capt. C. A. Davenport retired Oct. 1.The new bailiff is a native of Canal Fulton, but his parents moved to Massillon when he was an infant. His mother, Mrs. Margaret Buttermore, resides with Buttermore and his family at 647 Green ave SW. His father, Charles Buttermore,' is deceased.Buttermore was graduated from j Washington high school in 1929! ! after playing three years on the I Tiger varsity football squad.He was appointed to the force! May 1, 1938. Less than a year later he was severely injured when struck by a car on duty.
