II\'Buckingham.Nathan A, Buckingham died at his home at 679 South West street Tuesday evening at 11:1 0 o’clock after an Illness if two weeks. Mr. Buckingham had been in failing health for more than a year,Nathan A. Buckingham was born in the Ebenezer neighborhood April 11. 1X4 7, in 1872 he was married to Isabelle McGinnis. To the union were born five children, two of whomdied in Infancy, and three of whom, Clarence, Louise and Frances, together with the mother, survive,*caoeefttC■Mr, Buckingham for the greater part of his life was engaged in lumbering and architecture. He eariy engaged with his brother in contracting. Later he 1* tme a partner in j f the Star Planing mill, which soon added an architectural! department. \fter withdrawing from the planing | mill he became a partner in the firm of Buckingham Miller, contractors.• ! This partnership was later dissolved,Mr. Buckingham carrying on a similar business on his own account, In 1H97 he associated with himself in jthc business his son Clarence, the -on later taking charge of the entire management. In his later years he did light contracting, his failing health forbidding his attempting his earlier arduous lalrors.ilt;1fAh a contractor he did an onromous 1 | business in this city and other cities of this section of the state. He designed the local high school buildingand the Winchester and Decatur lt;ourt houses. Parts of the School for r the Blind and of the School for theDeaf are also his work..sThe funeral will be held at ,1 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the home, conducted by Rev. R, F. Thrapp, assisted by Rev. A. B. Morey. Interment will be at Diamond Grovecemetery. s
