Abie Mitchell and her Tennessee Students occupied the stage less than fifteen minutes, butin that brief period they worked the audience up to a high pitch of excitement, and eventually brought down the curtain to a storm of applause. The minstrels are 14 in number, five of them ladies. The men are dressed in the conventional white ducks and blazers of nigger minstrelsy, the women in short frocks of many colours. Beginning quietly with simple plantation melodies, the little company gradually develop a veritable fury of song and dance, winding ~up with a “breakdown” of extraordinary agiiity and ingenuity. In the concluding item a lithe little comedienne performed a series of such comic gyrations and twisted her eloquent features into gr;maccs so roguish that the house fairly shouted with laughter. Mr. Butt is to be congratulated upon the acquisition of these Tennessee Minstrels. They are the best combination of the kind that liondon has seen for some time, and it will be surprising if they do not “draw the town.”The Palace is indebted to America for several other exceptionally excellent “ turns.” Belle Davis, a handsome woman, with a fine stage presence, introduces a corps of real piccaninnies, whose step-dancing 13 a revelation of pedal felicity. This combination also rejoices in the possession of a diminutive comedian, who can well-nigh make his sinuous little body 'talk. A third newcomer from the land of the Si«irs and Stripes is Miss Nora Bayes, who sang a lilting ditty eulogising lager beer—a ditty coming strangely from a woman, but sung with an arch 3nd vivacious humour which was wholly captivating.Other artists of calibre were Haigh and Novel, with a quaint comedy act; Mme. Guinchan, with a well-rendered aria from “ Traviata ”; Captain Slema and Miss Alice, with amazing rifle-shooting feats; Mile. Juliette, with her amusing sea-lions; and the Follies, with their screamingly funny burlesque of Wagnerian opera. The Bioscope pictures included the film of the arrival in Bombay of the Prince and Princess of Wales, as shown before the King andQueen at Sandringham.Isionally£20,000peranee InfirmarMunifl by the 1Glouoestsworn a Propaga Roval SiVter Gen (ieorge'sfirmarv, don Hos pital for Weston-iWalton-1ETOSir,—I gome cobetweenin which appreher. have inHe exeffects oi Colonial the sligh whole ol mand fo any part The or ever posicommanc4, ChelSIRSpeak ii the Boro Norman
