Mr* Linde discovers that she needs Nils Krogstad. the man site had rejected for material security, and his children in order to be happy. Torvaid discovers that he is as morally weak as Krogstad. the man he so mercilessly condemned.Carmella Braico pnr trayed Nora Helmer in Fri day's performance A capa ble aclress, her third act was especially strong As the dependent doll-wife in the first two acts. Ms Brai co seemed rather too hard for the nighty, childlike Nora Frood of saving her husband’s life, her one inde pendent act. she becomes Increasingly strident as she begins to realize she has committed forger/, but she still thinks the miracle will happen, that her strong husband will save her.The most striking aspect of Ms Braico’s Nora occurs when in the third act. she discovers her husband is not the man she thought and de termines to leave him and her children.Her calm sirength of the-last act. on contrast to her rather distraught portrayal in the second, offered an unusual and successful in tcfpretation ol NoraIn Sunday afternoon's performance. Nora was portrayed by Nancy Lynn. Her interpretation of the role was more standard, and she was a softer, more childlike Nora.Kevin McQuace as Tor-vald Helmer did a very competent Job in his perfor mances with both Nora's. Although at times he didnot seem domineering enough, his performance was well paced, his responses excellent His last scenes, both before and after he realises that Nora is leaving, were especially effective.Liz Shrode as Mrs. Unde and Robert Flynn as Nils Krogstad were excellent. Both succeeded In por traying human beings who have struggled and suffered. Ms. Shrode. the first recipient of the Terrence Wright Memorial Scholarship Jn Theater, has an excllenl voice and her performance as Mrs. Linde was sustained, sensitive. Robert Flynn was able to portray the great variety of feelings that make up the character Nils Krogstad.William Budinc as Dr. Rank also did a lt;apable job. His flirtatious scene with Nora stands out Lynn Vacek. Nancy Guaan and Steve Wise all did competent jobs, and the Helmer children, played by Kamie Braico. Laura Cannot, Sean LaV-aque and Scott Tucker were charming.The cast w orked w ell as an ensemble. Ihe tempo was excellent: and the audiences enjoyed good theater.Karla Korff. student director. deserve* much credit, not only for her part in the production, but also for her work in establishing the Terrence Wright ScholarshipLynn Heilman's and Marge Friz's costumes were excellent and worked well with the set designed by Todd Horrison.The list of students who made the production In memory of Terrence Wright possible Is two pages long and should bo mentioned; their work and the successful production of ‘‘A Doll's House'' are fitting tributes to Terrence Wright.V.F.W. aux.
