More buffaloes passed through Buffalo Gap to the south of us than the number of cattle ever driven over the “great cattle trail.” Mind you,the cattle were driven. Their owners preferred, perhaps, to follow this route because it was less obstructed by fences and settlement«than any other. Will the railroad fellows use less judgment than the buffaloes did ?
