POSTCARD FROM THE PASTHere is the original hospital and nurse's home, in Brandon. This postcard shows the first hospital built for the city. At the far left is the Nurse’s Home. It was built in 1894 and cost approximately $2,000. The contractor was a Mr. C.B. Miller. Additions were added in 1896.1905 and 1914. At centre is the Brandon General Hospital, built in 1891-92. which opened in April. 1892. The architect was W. Marshall, the contractor was John Hanbury, and the cost was $24,000. At right is the Surgical Wing. It was built in 1903-04 and opened in August. 1904. The contractor was Charles Hall and cost $27,602. All three buildings were demolished in May, 1962.
