On News of the WorldQueen's writing, vocals unevenNEW5 OF THE WORLD — Queen, EfektraAdmirably, Queen has quit using Marx Brothers movie titles for its albums. But even though that's been remedied. Queen still has its problems, Freddie Mercury has always been the main talent in the band and thanks to his Bohemian Rhapsody, he's taken the bandto new heights - in popularity. Still the band insists on letting others, Brian May, for example, have a hand in the writing and vocal duties.The strongest cuts on News of the World fall short of the excellence of Boh Rhap but there are still flashes of rock and roll genius scattered about, however sparsely.Especially entertaining arethe two opening cuts, We Will Rock You a battle anthem sounding much like the Russian Army Chorus and the first single from News of the World/' We Are the Champions.Punk songs such' as bassist John Deacon's Sheer Heart At* tack and songs that would be more appropriate for Black Sab-batti albums. May's All Dead, Ail Dead are disappointing and unnecessary.
