Special Train to Carry Belton Fans, Band to San Saba TiltStrong Tiger Defense Eleven Set to Stop Rampages Of Dean Ragley and Company; Team Leaves Early to Prepere for Bi-District Game Friday.Belton Tigers, accompanied by the Belton Public School Band in full new uniforms, pep squad members and fans, will invade the sandhills of San Saba Friday in their, attempt to wrest the bi-district championship from the Armadillos. The special train carrying the band, fans and pep squad is scheduled to leave over the Santa Fe at 9:30 Friday morning ing. It will stop probably in Nolan-viJte, Killeen, Lampasas and Lometa to pick up passengers along the route. It is estimated that perhaps 50 0 Belton folk in all will attend the game, as the fever gets higher as game time draws near.The trip from Belton to San Sabawill consume most of four hours, theexact running time being three hours and ten minutes. The Band Boosters are preparing sandwiches and other eats for lunch on the train, as there j win probably be no opportunity to j get much lunch before the game * starts at 2 o’clock sharp.TIGERS LEAYR EARLYArrangements have been made to take the Tigers early, leaving in, cars about S:30 o’clock, according to ICoach Bob Safley. They will arrive in j San Saba before noon, without hur- j rying, and have opportunity for j early lunch and relaxation before j game time. W. H. Wilson, who is taking the equipment, also will carry j two cans of Belton water for the Tigers to drink before and during the .game.The entire squad is in good condition and all men will he able to play if called on. Coaches Safley and Eddie Franklin report. Exact starting line-up has not been -determined. The same starting line will be used, but whether Law or Blackburn will start in the baek'field will be goverend by conditions at game time. Both teams are hoping for a dry, hard field, as the passing zamea and rapidly moving sweeps are featured both by the Tigers and the Armadillos.“Stop Bagiev” Is CryHighly fouted is San Saba’s rabbitfooted Dean Bagiev, who has amassed 261 points in competition this fall.A shifty runner and a strong defensive hack, Bagley is the sparkplug of the Armadillos, hut by no means the entire team as some reports have it. While stopping Bagiev will be one of the big jobs for the Tigers Friday, it will not be the entire job. The back-field has other dangerous men, and -the Armadillo line is reputed strong.Both Belton and Sac Saba have strong scoring elevens, and have rolled up lots of points against ..opponents this season. However, neither is weak on defense, Belton has perhaps the better record in this department, having only six points againsttheir record this year, and those six points came from a fumble in midfield which Smith of Georgetown grabbed and ran over the goal- It is probably true that San Saba has not faced a line as strong, or even a secondary as strong on defense, as they will face when they line up against the Tigers Friday afternoon.Record Crowd Looms If the weather is good, the crowd (Continued on Page 6)
