CAPT. ROGER LOWE BRINGS IN LARGE CATCH POMPANOILOCAL FISHERMAN BREAKS ALL RECORDS BY LANDING 2,000 POUNDS IN TWO HOURS AND FORTY MINUTESRoger LoWe, well-known Key West fisherman, succeeded in breaking all records yesterday in the catch of pompano in the waters adjacent to this port, having made a catch of 2,000 pounds during the trip.Capt. Lowe left here in the early part of the afternoon, and was out on the trip just two hours and forty minutes, returning to port with the immense catch, which is considered the best yet brought in by. any of the local fishermen.The pompano is quite a choice fish, and the catching of such a Jarge amount of this specie in such short duration of time is rather rare.This fish brings a good price, and Capt. Lowe will no doubt net a nice little sum for his day's work, which was completed in so short a time.The pompano is a winter fish, and the fact that such a large number have already been caught in the nearby waters at the beginning of the winter is a good sign that the fishermen generally will enjoy a harvest when the fishing season sets Inproper.
