Mrs. Caroline Boor celebrated her ninetieth birthday Nov. 16th and helped to wash the dishes after the feast was over. She is in good health and one of the most notable women in the county She raised six boys and five girls. Her sons and son-in-laws are all Republicans. She has 65 grandchildren and 38 great-grand-children. Twelve of her grand-children were present at the celebration.Mr. and Mrs John W Ball of Defiance, and Mrs. Ida Ball spent Thanksgiving with Mr and Mrs. John Krontz.Mr. and Mrs. Wm Krontz of Florida, visited John Krontz last week.Mrs. A. J. Kiser visited her father last week.Geo. Hasselschwartz is getting out a boat load of wood for the Defiance market.Jacob Krontz and Win. Shulty of East Defiance, bought a lot of straw from G W. Ball, last week.One of the biggest birthday parties that was ever held in this township,oc-cured at the home of H. W. Haran e ’-Smith, Saturday evening Nov. 26 that being the 39th anniversary of bis birth. There were ninty-five guests present to break bread with the genial host and help devour the bountiful supply of oysters he had provided. Dancing was the order of the evening. Though a Democrat, Mr. Hammersmith is a faithful reader of the Republican Express He received many presents of his friends. It was a grand party and will long be remembered by those who were present.H. W. Hammersmith sold a lot of hogs to Defiance butchers last week that netted him $10Mr. and Mrs John Ball spent Sunday with Henry Merrihugh. •Geo. Capor and son were at Sherwood recently.Geo. and Wm. Ball are making ties on the Hammersmith farm.John Hasselschwartz and wife, of North Defiance, visited his parents the past week.
