At 9 a. m. they heard the I m Aagard dog barking very excited-1 ia ly in the corn field. The men tho’t 1^ the dog was chasing a rabbit, in-|^ stead it was a buck deer about 3 years old with quite large antlers. The deer ran east and was later seen at the road near the LeRoy Anderson farm. Arthur Erckson who saw the deer, said that it was as near as 100 feet.Only once before have we heard’ of a deer in this vicinity and that was about two years ago on the Erickson farm. As there are no woods nearby, only groves, it seems strange that a deer could find a place to hide.V.R.
