SHANGHAI PEOPLEFAMILY OF ARTHUR CURTIS TO MAKE THEIR HOME IN GALESBURG.Shanghai, Aug. 28.-^La?t Friday evening a large crowd of the neighbors and friends of Arthur Curtis gave them a surprise. They moved to Galesburg last Monday. Ice cream and cake was served after which several of the young ladies furnishedsome excellent instrumental also vo-*cal music.Mrs. Effie Anderson and children of Washington, la., are visiting relatives and friends here at present. She will be remembered as Miss Effie .Crosby.M. Y. Stone and T. Crawford attended the races at Galesburg last Thursday.Mrs. J. A. Stone called on Mrs. Charles Gloss last Friday.J. L. Schwartz and family went to Galesburg Thursday.Mrs. Norman has been very poorly the past few days. \M. L. Holmes of Galesburg visited over Tuesday night with relatives here. .Mrs. Lennie Schwartz and mother, Mrs. Norman, spent the day Wednesday with Mrs. G. W. Palmer.
